Things to Do in Roxboro NC This Fall: October–November 2026

The Personality Festival took over Uptown on October 3, and the festival page has already switched to a thank-you note and a photo recap. On the Uptown Roxboro events page, the next big event is Jingle on Main on December 3, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 106 N. Main Street. The summer's Arts, Eats & Beats First Fridays also ended with the September 4 date.

That leaves about eight weeks without a headline street party, but the calendar is far from empty. Different hosts are running it. The Kirby Theatre, Person County Recreation, Arts & Parks, the public library, a brewery on Depot Street and the Person Veterans Council fill most of October and November. Much of their schedule is listed as free.

Here is the stretch at a glance, as of October 9, 2026.

The Kirby has something nearly every week

Between mid-October and mid-December, 213 N. Main Street hosts four different programs. That makes the Kirby the steadiest place on the fall calendar.

Roxboro Little Theater opens Akeelah and the Bee with 7:30 p.m. shows on October 16 and 17 and a 3 p.m. matinee on October 18. On Etix, adult tickets come in three tiers: $11.80, $18.58 and $23.10. The same season lists The Santa Switch for December 11 through 13. That gives the theater group one show on each side of the holidays.

Free Friday Fun on October 23 uses the whole building, not just the screen. At 5 p.m. it starts with:

  • Giant games in the Kirby Rebirth
  • A Scooby Doo craft in the Kirby Learning Studios
  • Art viewing for BLAC in the Kirby Gallery
  • The Debi Drew Collaborative Show in the Upper Gallery

The 2002 Scooby Doo movie, rated PG, starts at 6:30 p.m. in the theater. The Animal Protection Society of Person County is running concessions. Everything on the list is free. Snacks are the only thing you'll pay for, and that money goes to the animal shelter group.

The Sappony American Indian Arts Show is listed at the Kirby for Sunday, November 1. The listing says more information is coming, so times and admission aren't posted yet.

Depot Street has the big Saturday on October 17

Akeelah's second night falls on the same Saturday as Black Creek Brewery's 9th Anniversary Party & Octoberfest. The party runs from 4 to 9 p.m. at 111 Depot St. Cameron Moore plays at 5 and Matt Huff at 7:30. There's a stein-holding competition for men and women with prizes, and Smokehouse Bandits is serving German food. The listing invites guests to wear lederhosen and dirndls. The play starts at 7:30, so you could catch the early music on Depot Street and still make curtain on Main Street.

Depot Street also has the Roxboro Farmers Market at 122 Depot St. Its listing describes a year-round market that opens Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon. We couldn't find a posted end-of-season schedule, so check before you go once the weather turns cold. The Saturday morning market followed by the evening Octoberfest gives that block a full day on October 17.

October 24 belongs to the county parks and library

The county's Recreation, Arts & Parks department and the Person County Public Library are teaming up for Halloween Fun at Huck Sansbury at 425 Long Ave. on Saturday, October 24. Activities start at 5 p.m., and the plan includes:

  1. Halloween games and activities
  2. A live-action spooky story time
  3. The Bookmobile, with Halloween stories and a craft
  4. Treats
  5. A costume contest for ages 5 to 12
  6. Casper on screen at 7:30 p.m.

The listing suggests bringing lawn chairs or blankets.

The Casper showing is also the fourth and final night of the county's free Movies in the Park series. That series listing still gives 303 S. Morgan St. as the address, and it says pre-movie activity times are to be announced. The Huck Sansbury listing is the more detailed one. Still, with two addresses posted for the same night, check with Recreation, Arts & Parks before you set out.

On weekdays, the library is busier than its storytime reputation suggests. The October 2026 library calendar includes:

  • Storytime Adventures, Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
  • Storytime Quests, Mondays at 10:30 a.m.
  • Book Bunch, noon on October 15
  • Lego Legends Lab, 3:30 p.m. on October 15
  • Family Crafting, 3:30 p.m. on October 19
  • Student Success Space, 3:45 p.m. on October 22
  • The Library Arcade, 3 p.m. on October 29

November's calendar doesn't show any programs yet. It does mark the county holidays for Veterans Day on November 11 and Thanksgiving on November 26 and 27.

Halloween week: what's confirmed and what isn't

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year. As of October 9, only one Roxboro event that day has full details posted. Bullpen Backyard's free 5th Annual Trunk or Treat runs from noon to 3 p.m. at 4324 Boston Road.

County tourism lists an Uptown Boo Bash on Thursday, October 29, with a note that more information is coming. There's no time, location or host yet. Last year's tourism roundup gave times for citywide trick-or-treating on October 31. That post is from 2025, and nothing confirming 2026 times has been posted yet. Wait for the official announcement before you plan around last year's schedule.

Two options don't have to wait for Halloween. The 13th Door Haunted Manor at 970 Frank Timberlake Road is open tonight and tomorrow, October 9 and 10, starting at 8 p.m. Proceeds go to Person County's Firefighter's Burned Children's Fund. B² Farm's pumpkin patch, at 1500 Tilley Farm Road in nearby Rougemont, is open Saturdays and Sundays through October except Halloween. Admission is $15 with a pumpkin or $10 without.

November moves up Main Street

The Person Veterans Council brings the calendar back to Uptown on Saturday, November 7. The Veterans Day Parade forms up at 9 a.m., steps off at 10 heading north on Main Street, and ends at the Person County Museum of History at 309 N. Main St. for a gathering. The council describes the day as a celebration of veterans "who have kept us free for the past 250 years." The listing directs participants to a flyer for registration details.

On Veterans Day itself, Wednesday, November 11, a separate observance is set for 11 a.m. at Person County Veterans Memorial Park, 316 S. Morgan St. More details are still to come. County offices, including the library, are closed that day.

The weekend after Thanksgiving brings the first holiday shopping event. The Shops of Halls Way's Handmade Holiday: A Crafter's Christmas Market is set for Saturday, November 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 44 Gordon St., with more dates listed for December. Five days later, Jingle on Main brings the big Uptown events back on December 3.

Uptown Roxboro Group noted in its 2026 calendar announcement that "some events may shift or evolve" during the year. Several listings above still say details are to come, so check with the organizer before you head out.
